SBAC Springfield Update

The SBAC is currently engaged in detailed talks with the legislative leadership of both chambers in the Illinois General Assembly. Importantly, there has also been a newly formed committee in the House that is of great significance to our mission - the Small Business Tech and Innovation Committee. The SBAC is currently working with members of the newly formed committee on nonpartisan policies that can best improve the small business environment. Recently we moderated an Illinois Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives conversation with Speaker of the House Chris Welch on these very topics. Please watch our discussion with Speaker Welch and Small Business Tech and Innovation Committee Chairwoman Ammons here: IACCE Conversation

Neighborhood Revitalization Coalition

Thriving commercial corridors support local communities across Chicago and Cook County. However, even prior to the pandemic many corridors were struggling. As Chicago emerges from the pandemic and local communities confront a new economic landscape, the Neighborhood Revitalization Coalition is prepared to assist in advocating for policies that fuel local ownership and community investment.
