Cutting Chicago Red Tape

Alderman Martin is proposing an ordinance that would change the process for sidewalk café permits and make changes to Public Place of Amusement licenses.

First and Last Name

Pursuant to this ordinance, businesses would apply for a permit and make a payment covering two years. While businesses would have to pay an upfront cost covering two years, this would cut red tape and ensure businesses only had to go through the process of obtaining a sidewalk café permit every two years.

Are you in favor of an amendment for PPA licenses that expands the number of pool tables an establishment can have from 1 to 2 without needing a PPA license and expands the number of amusement devices (arcade machines, etc.) from 3 to 4 without needing the license?
